Soaring vs. Striving

Paraphrased from Rick McDaniel

“All glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us,

to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”

Ephesians 3:20

The Andea condor is the largest soaring bird in the world. Impressive indeed at 33 pounds with a 10-foot wingspan.

When researchers strapped cameras on these massive birds, what they discovered was amazing.

They only flap their wings 1% of the time. The other 99% of the time, they soar.

How do they do this?

The air is not an empty place to them. They understand wind gusts and streams of warm air and how air is pushed upward between the mountains. And they use this to soar.

Not to strive.

But to soar.

When God’s spirit is at work in us, His power is the difference.

Are we allowing God’s power to work in our lives? If so, how much? Five percent of the time? Ten percent? Fifty percent? I’m guessing not 99% of the time.

We struggle. We worry. We try to solve things.

God is ready to help. All we need to do is access His power.

Challenge: Let’s operate more like the Andea condor as leaders and volunteers with T.R.A.C. and T.R.A.C.life.
