Building Bridges
Recently, Alliance Redwoods Conference Grounds in California sent an email that caught my attention.
Do you know what is the most urgent mental health problem in America today?
Last year, the surgeon general of the USA issued a report that said it’s loneliness! There has never been a time when we are more connected digitally, yet, relationships are so broken and lacking.
Can you relate? In the hurry of our busy lives, it's hard to put down the roots of genuine friendships and community.
Our youth especially have a desperate need to feel as if they belong to a group of friends and family. Most of all, they need to connect with God. This can’t be done online. The best place for this to happen is right out here in the great outdoors!
Building bridges between people and their Creator is what happens at camp . . . camp experiences that provide a bridge to new friendships and an understanding of God’s love for them. The result is real life transformation.
Teen Reach shares the same heart. As campers experience the cathedral of the outdoors, they can take a deep breath from social media and encounter the Father who loves them. Let’s build bridges as we serve and pray for vulnerable youth across the country this camp season.
