Campfire Speaker

Three years ago, Keyara wanted nothing to do with T.R.A.C. Her all-black clothing and bad attitude screamed, “Stay away.”

By the third day of camp, the fake nails were chipped, the heavy makeup was gone, and Keyara was having the time of her life.

Last year, a completely different young lady showed up to T.R.A.C. with a big grin on her face. Keyara asked if she could read a poem to the other girls. On a whim, camp director Heather invited Keyara to share her story.

This year, guess who wanted to speak around the campfire?

Keyara.

She captivated the campers with her struggles and her triumphs. Strong and articulate, Keyara pointed to the hope in Jesus she found at Teen Reach Adventure Camp.

“I know some of you are angry at God, but he is really here to help us if we let him. I was angry, too, but what I went through made me strong. My past made me want to be there for other kids, to be their safety net. I can use those lessons for the good by helping others and telling all of you that you are not alone.”

T.R.A.C. makes a difference!
