For Such a Time as This
Who knows if perhaps you were made queen
for just such a time as this?
Esther 4:14b
As I reflect on our CrossTalk curriculum this year, I can’t help but think of Mordecai’s plea to Esther about such a time as this.
Just since December, the following has happened:
A mentee in California got lured from her home by a 24-year-old man. When she recognized the danger, the teenage girl reached out to her mentor and is now safely home! Praise God for the presence of a committed T.R.A.C.life mentor in her life!
A young man in Florida wants to turn his life around after being incarcerated. He expressed interest in spiritual growth and wants to read a book with his mentor who is committed to their relationship—even behind bars.
A week before Christmas, a mentor in Nebraska received a frantic call from her former mentee saying she and her sister were being kicked out of their adoptive home and had nowhere to go. The mentor opened her home and helped the oldest get into a transitional living program. The younger sister is living with the mentor and working on getting her driver’s license and getting on her own two feet.
For such a time as this!
As we prepare for another year of camp and mentoring, may we not get weary or discouraged.
Our memory verse reminds us: “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you." Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT
God has called us for such a time as this.
We are bringing LIFE-GIVING HOPE to this generation!
