Live Like a Camper
When these bodies of ours are taken down like tents and folded away, they will be replaced by resurrection bodies in heaven—God-made, not handmade . . . The Spirit of God whets our appetite by giving us a taste of what’s ahead. He puts a little of heaven in our hearts so that we’ll never settle for less.
2 Corinthians 5:1-5 MSG
The Israelites were campers. Before they could get to the Promised Land, they had to journey through the desert wilderness, dwelling in tents.
We live in a tent world, as Jonathan Cahn points out in The Book of Mysteries.
If everything here is temporary—our good times, our bad times, our successes and our failures—how does this translate into our lives?
The very frailty reminds us that we’re only journeying through this life as we make our way home to the Father. As campers, we can be encouraged that every problem will weaken. Every challenge will fade. Every crisis will pass.
We can tread lightly and travel freely, fixing our eyes on heaven. We’re only camping.
NOTE: This was the Teen Reach devo for April 2019. A little throwback fun to ponder.
