Isolation
Recently, Pastor Bryan Clark shared the following metaphor on My Bridge radio, a Christian station that periodically shares stories about RFK and T.R.A.C.
Blacksmith enthusiasts burn coal that can create heat over 1500 degrees F. The coals will retain their heat for over an hour if they’re piled together. When the blower is turned on, the fire comes right back to life. Spreading the coals apart extinguishes the heat. Within five minutes the coals are cold to the touch. Burning coals grow cold quickly when they’re isolated from one another.
What a powerful image of our need for each other. The church is not a TV show. The church is believers gathering to be the body of Christ together. We’re not consumers. We’re worshippers serving together in ministries like T.R.A.C. Talk about the power of unity!
