Qualified Charitable Distribution
Have you heard about Qualified Charitable Distributions, a.k.a QCDs?
According to board member and Teen Reach accountant, Sam Thannickal, a QCD is a tax-smart way to make an impact using your qualified retirement plan.
To qualify, you must be at least age 70.5 and transfer an outright gift directly from a traditional IRA account. Even if this doesn’t apply to you, are there potential donors you could ask?
There are many benefits to giving in this way. An individual can donate up to $100,000 annually and pay no income tax on the distribution. The gift will also count toward the required minimum distribution for the year in which the gift was made.
As we work toward our Big Heavenly Audacious Goal of bringing Teen Reach programs to all 50 states, please consider supporting Teen Reach via an IRA charitable rollover. This can be a simple and tax-free gift to bring hope to at-risk youth around the country.
