What Mentees and Mentors are Saying . . .
Six-month surveys are a great way to evaluate how a mentoring relationship is progressing. Check out some of the answers from this year:
From Mentees:
We went to the gym, and I got to experience what it would be like to have a dad.
My favorite thing about T.R.A.C.life is making new memories and experiencing new things.
I’ve grown to be slightly more optimistic since becoming mentored.
My anxiety hasn’t been as bad.
My well-being has improved because I get a break from my overall life at home.
T.R.A.C.life has improved my attitude & helped me to be more tolerant, especially towards my little brother & others who try to get on my nerves.
My favorite part about T.R.A.C.life is having someone that treats me like family.
I'm just glad to have a friend (like my mentor) and a person I can actually talk to.
From Mentors:
Our visits are becoming more and more natural, and he is starting to talk a lot.
Being able to provide a stable relationship for Ben* is exactly what I was hoping for.
Best practice of T.R.A.C.life: being very intentional about one-on-one activities and making the mentee feeling noticed, heard and loved.
Miranda* was very shy at first, and she has opened up a lot. She also reaches out to me to ask to hang out, which is big for her. She also has started asking me bigger questions.
My youth has made a goal for 2022 to cut out toxic relationships.
I have noticed a major change in my mentee’s confidence.
During the drive, Anton* asked what would the world be like today if Adam and Eve never sinned which led to a conversation of what I have learned through my walk with Christ.
I took my mentee to puppy training class with me because she has an interest in working with animals someday. She loved learning new things about dog training and became good friends with my Corgi puppy Gwen which seemed very therapeutic for both of them.
After almost a year and a half, we have grown very close and really look forward to our visits.
The freedom to be a solid voice in their life when much of the rest of their lives are unstable.
Makes you want to be a mentor, huh? T.R.A.C.life is making a difference.
